As the much-anticipated 2024 parliamentary elections draw near, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intensified his campaign efforts, directing his focus on opposition parties. However, the nature of this campaign has been criticized for its lack of rationale, substantial support, and its reliance on divisive rhetoric.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign strategy has traversed across regions, concentrating notably on opposition parties within the Indian alliance, with a particular focus on the DMK. During a recent speech in Telangana, he alleged that the DMK government in Tamil Nadu is exerting control over Hindu temples, alleging financial mismanagement and exploitation of temple revenues.

Raising questions about the selective targeting, PM Modi questioned why the DMK had not taken similar actions with Islamic mosques if they were truly concerned about religious control. This rhetoric has sparked debates, with many perceiving it as an attempt to pit the majority Hindu population against the DMK, further implicating the Congress for supporting a party allegedly acting against Hindu interests.

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accusations, DMK spokesperson Surya Kondak addressed the allegations and provided insights during this interview.
